Dan served in the United States Army from July 1988 to July 1991. After basic training and AIT, he was stationed in South Korea (Camp Ames) for one year before heading to Fort Knox, Kentucky. Dan spent six months in the Middle East during Desert Shield and Desert Storm, working in support of the 1st Cavalry Division out of Fort Hood, Texas. He joined the staff of the Veterans Service Office in May of 2006.

In his spare time, Dan enjoys following the Badgers, Packers, and Brewers. He lives in Oregon with his wife, Melinda, and his three boys, Bailey, Kieran, and Riley.

Thomas Hay

Tom joined the County Veterans Service Office as an Assistant Veterans Services Officer on April 5, 2010. Thomas is retired from the Wisconsin Army National Guard, including 4 years in the active Army and over 12 years of civil service with Department of Military Affairs. His military career included deployments for Operation Desert Shield and Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom, as well as state active duty for the Kentucky Ice Storm in February 2009. He spent half his career as an enlisted soldier and the other half as a commissioned officer, retiring as a Captain.

Outside of work, he enjoys watching sports, especially the Packers, Brewers, Bucks and Badgers. Tom is married to Lisa and the two of them have a son, Brennan.

Jennifer Sluga

Jennifer graduated high school early and joined the United States Army at the age of 17 in 2004. She worked in the property book office in supply for the 1/132d Infantry Support Brigade. In 2006 she was deployed with the 1/147th Aviation Unit for a sixteen month tour to Kosovo, as part of the NATO KFOR8 force. While there she served as their armorer as well as tracked/maintained the BLAHA (Basic Load Ammunition Holding Area). In 2007, Jennifer returned and finished earning her Bachelors of Science Degree at UW Madison in Psychology. In 2010, she graduated and finished her time in the Army. She is currently finishing up her Masters of Science Degree in Counseling; hoping to continue working with veterans’ needs.
